So yeah, we adopted a new dog last Monday. A week ago, Sunday, we went out to the Montgomery County SPCA. We'd been talking for a while about possibly getting a second dog, and Nina's sister mentioned to us about a kennel/breeder in Montgomery County that'd had a bunch of dogs taken from it:

So yeah, five of us went out there - Aidan, Nina, my parents and I - and visited. At the time they had a bunch of pit bulls, a terrier who was known to be bad with cats, a chihuaha/rat terrier mix who wasn't up for adoption yet (extremely nervous/scared)... And Jasper the Shih Tzu. He is one of the dogs taken from Flat Creek, and came out with terrible matted fur - enough of it to fill "one and a half shopping bags", according to them - and one eye. When we asked to visit with him, they brought him into the room, he took one look at me, walked over, leaned against my leg, and I was done. We put in an application for him, took our other dog out to visit, had them call our landlord and our vet and do a house visit... And picked him up Monday.
So Jasper is here, and seems very happy. The closest to "fighting" is that he occasionally goes and sits riiiiight next to Zena when she's relaxing and leans into her, prompting her to get up and find another place to lay down. Other than that, everything seems good.

Oh, and he can jump over baby gates. Good thing he's sortof almost house-trained, or this'd be a lot messier than it might have otherwise been...
